Saturday 12th September 2009...
Saturday morning saw Jim and Carol head to the Canyon Ranch Spa for individual massages...Jim had a deep tissue massage and mud treatment on the back whilst Carol had an all over body massage and lavender oil scalp treatment...Jon found a sunbed by the pool and relaxed...we joined him after our massages and apart from a break to have another nice lunch at Riva, we spent most of the afternoon by the pool, sunbathing, cooling off in one of the many pools and enjoying some nice cocktails and Sangria...
When the clouds came over in mid afternoon we went back to the room to get rested and ready for a surprise for Jim and Carol by Jonathan...he paid for a trip on the Canal in a private gondola with singing gondolier as a belated 25th Wedding Anniversary gift...it was wonderful - he took pics from the side and we got an official picture (or 3) too!!..thanks Jon! - what a nice suprise...
Then another suprise from Jon for our final meal out at the Venetian...he booked a table in a balcony overlooking the Canal at Zefferini's - a stunning Italian restaurant...we had wonderful home made Minestrone and pastas and Jim had yet another great steak....
After our meal we all walked down the strip to see the Bellagio Fountains show - again, absolutely fantastic!...the Strip is great fun at night even if just like sightseeing in a sauna!...after we got back Jim and Carol decided to head towards The Pallazzo Casino (attached to the Venetian and a bit more "classy") and Jim went straight to his favourite Wheel of Fortune game...Jon joined us just as Carol won $70 on one slot and Jim began a great winning streak on WoF - which ended up with us collecting around $500 in winnings - we didn't put anywhere near that amount in, so we WON!!!!!
We spent a bit of time in the bar having a laugh with Jon and then went to bed to get ready for the next leg of the journey in the morning...Vegas to - who knows?...we have nothing booked and don't know where we will be stopping...
Looks like you guys are really have a lot of fun!...hope the rest of the trip goes well...
