Wednesday 2nd September 2009...
I rang Canon to ask them where I could get my elusive battery charger and they gave me two options, one was back in Denver, the second was Best Buy (a warehouse style store selling all things electrical). So with a combination of Google and the sat nav we found one on the outskirts of Colorado Springs. Whoopie Do they have an all singing device that takes my battery and it has a 12 volt car adaptor, so I can use it in the UK. On to Walmart and a stock up with water and stuff.
Jon and I go off to the aquatic centre for an afternoon of fun and water. As the sun seems to have decided we are not going to get a tan today we go on the lake in a canoe (a first for me) and not too bad on the back. We deposit ourselves in the over-21 area on sun beds for a rest. There we encounter our first plastic Pam, size 0, blonde, and with enormous fake headlights. So off to the Olympic 50 metre pool for some lengths, boy it is cold. We both have a long chat with Richard the aquatic centre do-it-all, what a great bloke.
Carol has been sunning herself by the pool up at the hotel and writing some of the dozens of postcards we seem to have to send to half the planet, I hope there is plenty of ink in her pen!!
Evening sees us try the restaurant, they do this gourmet buffet ($29) with as much as you can eat, so that goes down well with a chilled sauvignon blanc. It seems we still have some energy so off to the bar for a few brandies and to show Jon how to play pool properly, great fun, see you all tomorrow.
That looks like a lot of fun...glad you are enjoying yourselves..
